I was drowning in a sea of disengagement, and I wasn't alone. Colleagues around me seemed resigned to going through the motions, their passion and drive extinguished. It was a stark reminder of what happens when people lose their sense of ownership at work.

This experience lit a fire within me. I realized that my academic research on ownership needed to be translated into something practical, something that everyday leaders could understand and implement. The journey from dense academic papers to an accessible framework wasn't easy. It was, at times, an excruciating process of distilling complex concepts into digestible insights.

As I worked on the book, I began hosting workshops with leadership teams to test and refine the concepts.
